Patrick Freudiger shared valuable insights into contemporary IT leadership in his workshop.
On September 28, 2023, the 12th Confare #CIOSUMMIT Zurich took place in Switzerland's largest city. The well-known IT Management Forum is an interface between providers, universities, media, politics and IT decision-makers from the DACH region. Managing directors, CIOs, IT managers and those responsible for digitalization meet here for inspiration, exchange of experiences and perspectives and the best companies in the IT industry show the possibilities of the latest technologies. This year too, in addition to numerous lectures, there was the CIO Executive Arena with the workshop by CIO Award winner and admomentum managing director Patrick Freudiger.
As in previous years, the renowned leadership coach also held an exclusive workshop in 2023. This was limited to 20 participants and due to huge demand the event was already fully booked in advance. The workshop entitled “How you have to lead as an IT decision-maker today – Excellence in Leadership” offered IT decision-makers the opportunity to deepen their leadership skills in an exclusive format and benefit from first-class expert knowledge.
The focus during the workshop was on interactive dialogue and exchange of ideas. Patrick Freudiger presented key insights that are highly relevant for IT leaders today. Among other things, it was about the fact that in a constantly changing IT landscape, basic leadership principles such as “leadership by example” still retain their importance. In addition, with an increasingly younger workforce that brings with it different values, beliefs and reference experiences, it is essential to adapt management approaches to this diversity. In addition, the world is going through a profound change - including in the IT landscape - and is becoming more digital, dynamic and disruptive than ever before. This requires IT leaders to have the ability to continually adapt and pursue innovative approaches.
Patrick Freudiger also emphasized the need to rethink existing leadership approaches. He sees modern leadership tools such as active listening, appreciation and meaning-making as indispensable elements in the leadership repertoire of IT decision-makers.
In his closing remarks, Patrick Freudiger once again emphasized the importance of continually examining one's own leadership behavior and continually developing oneself. «The positive feedback on my workshop fills me with great joy. “They remind us how important it is to critically reflect on our leadership behavior and to continually work on our personal development in order to survive as a leader in a dynamic environment and to get the best out of our team,” he summed up.
